Mid century original wood bowl designed by Arthur Umanoff for Raymor. Hand crafted and hand finished in Haiti using a rare Haitian wood according to the paper label on the back. With a beautiful oblong shaped opening set in a round bowl the edges on the top create a lip on either side. A true collectible for mid century design buffs. The color of the wood is much warmer and richer than the photos show.
It measures 6 1/4” in diameter and 2” at its highest. No chips or cracks. In good vintage condition.
Label on the back is marked No. 609 from the taverneau collection designed by Arthur Umanoff. Helpful hint to keep the wood looking nice - clean with a damp cloth then after drying, condition it with butcher block oil.
