Vintage Red Woven Quetzal Wall Hanging

Qué es quetzal?

The quetzal is the national bird of Guatemala and is represented in many of the weavings done by the indigenous women.

In this vintage weaving of red with accents of blue, green, orange, white and black, the beautiful bird is represented in a repetitive pattern done in cross stitch embroidery. The base of red threads was woven on a loom. Some of the green and orange threads are a bit loose and not secured tightly so handle with care.

The wall hanging measures 20 1/2" long and 18" wide. Made in Guatemala.
