Vintage Ceramic Black and Green Mexican Vase

Are they fish, birds, faces? We may never know. All we know is that this vase is incredible.

Burnished black glaze with a geometric pattern in green, teal, rust and brick red. The precise white outline was created by scratching into the surface of the clay by hand and then meticulously painting in the pigment to cover the clay. One "eye" in the pattern was forgotten and is the natural red brown color of the clay - see photo 9. We are tempted to identify this as Oaxacan due to the color scheme but unsure. If anyone has any clue as to the origin please feel free to send us a message. This vase has no chips or cracks. In great vintage condition.

It stands 7" high and is approximately 6" at its widest point. No maker's mark stamped in the clay.
